Situated not far away from the Estoril Sol Golf,
some 9,5 kms from Estoril and 32 kms from Lisbon, this
new course inaugurated during 1992, took very good
advantage for the local natural environment in order to
promise golfers some unforgettable golfing moments. This
18 hole, 72 par and 6228 metres long "Atlantic"
course, was designed by Robert Trent Jones II with
magnificent views of Sintra mountains as well as sweeping
views of the Atlantic Ocean with Estoril and Cascais in
the foreground. The design of the new 9 holes Golf Course
of Penha Longa follows the lines of the
"Atlantic" course. It is a quality course, with
spectacular sceneries. It's a par 35 measuring 2550
metres. Hole 9 , par 4, downhill, is a true master-piece,
with superb views on the background, such as the Penha
Longa Rock and the Monastery. |
