| Situated just
a few kilometres from Florence, the Golf
dell'Ugolino is one of the oldest courses in
Italy. Designed by the architects Gannon and
Blandord, this is an 18 hole par 72 course
measuring 5741 metres. Located in the heart of
Chianti, in add ition to magnificent scenery, the
course, because of its hilly position is notable
for its difficult technical features. The golf
club has a driving range, with numerous stations
both covered and uncovered, a putting green, a
green and practice bunke rs, a pro-shop as well
as a tennis court and beautiful swimming pool
offering bar and restaurant service. Built in the
thirties, the club house, a rare example of
rationalist architecture is a national monument
that has remained intact over the years. |
